about

Another rock ballad. Kevin King really helped us work through the arrangement on this one. Thomas Hirschler played rhythm on the Les Paul directly through the pedal board using light compression and a clean setting. Cullin Kress played some radical feedback-based lead. I think where the lyrics speak of the power of the sun, the lead sounds like solar flares. He played the lead on the Les Paul through ME70 pedal with WAH, distortion, and feedback. Nathaniel played drums. Chris Kress played the Epiphone bass with a clean setting direct out of the amp to interface (not cabinet emulation). Melody played piano on the Korg. Love the pickup into the chorus on the piano.

lyrics

Verse 1
Lord I’ve been asking, where to now from here
Lord I’ve been hoping, that the days ahead are filled with joy and laughter
Lord I’ve been praying, but the answers are far from clear

Chorus
You will come, You will save
You’ll send Your peace and make my days
Like a tree nourished by the power of the sun
Lord, You will come

Verse 2
Lord I am waiting, I want to hear Your call
Lord I am moving, like a ship I am hoping You will fill my sails, make them full
Lord I am wondering, if I hear anything at all

Chorus
You will come, You will save
You’ll send Your peace and make my days
Like a tree nourished by the power of the sun
Lord, You will come

Bridge
I’m on my knees, on my knees, hoping down on my knees
I’m on my knees, on my knees, waiting down on my knees

Chorus
You will come, You will save
You’ll send Your peace and make my days
Like a tree nourished by the power of the sun
Lord, You will come
