What starts out rough can turn around. Things may be hard when we try to do them on our own but with the help of someone else, there can be joy in the challenge. The lyrics are both thoughtful and positive. I especially like how this song ends, on a major chord. It’s a great reminder that things can change if we do one simple thing, that is, to care for others.
1-on-1 relationships are not 50/50. If you’re looking at a relationship as a transaction, you’re looking at it the wrong way. The real math is not a math we are familiar with, and often it is not common to our experience. Instead, if we give more, more will return to us.
While the bigger world around us appears out of control, we can have an impact in the many smaller worlds in which we live, the workplaces, the classrooms, at home with our families and friends, and with the many individuals we bump into along the way. Give 100%! This is what it means to be light. Be light!
lyrics
Deserted island in a sea of madness
Picked the low hanging fruit from a bitter tree
I’m living in the depths of what seems like an endless day of sadness
A take no prisoners panic attack
As long as I have you
As long as I have you
As long as I have you
As long as I have you, I’m fine
As long as I have you, I’m fine
I’m trying for the life of me to hold on to my humanity
Some who see me only for what I did and do
I’m living small in the land of my depravity
It’s just that I got nothin’ to prove it
As long as I have you
As long as I have you
As long as I have you
As long as I have you, I’m fine
As long as I have you, I’m fine
You were my only tether
Without you, I feel like I’m floating
As long as I have you
As long as I have you
As long as I have you
As long as I have you, I’m fine
As long as I have you, I’m fine
